Photojournalist’s Gamer / Avatar Portraits
The portraits are from a book by photojournalist, Robbie Cooper.
I always thought this would be an interesting project, having portraits of gamers next to their avatars in similar poses. I thought it would make for interesting observations. Having been interviewed for documentaries myself, I was aware that what the film maker was perhaps most interested in (judging from their questions) was how I did not fit the publicly held stereotype. To me, every gamer has a story and photojournalism is a great medium to show it.
